54 year old Brentwood Simpers, of Point Blank, is wheeled to a waiting medical helicopter after he slammed into a utility pole when driving on Colita Loop.

Driver Takes Out Utility Pole, Flown From Scene, PATONIA, September 25, 2024 - At approximately 2:05 pm on September 25, 2024, the driver of a white 2015 Kia Soul was west-bound on Colita Loop when the driver left the unpaved road to the right, slammed into a utility pole (the pole completely snapped and came separated from the power lines), then stopped after hitting an oak tree. Allegiance Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with the Onalaska Volunteer Fire Department. The driver, Brentwood Simpers, 54, of Point Blank, was transported by ambulance to a nearby landing zone and flown to Conroe with head injuries. Trooper Sean Barnes with the Texas Highway Patrol was dispatched to investigate. Simpers is likely facing a citation for the accident (possibly unsafe speed). Clifton Chevrolet out of Corrigan recovered Simpers' vehicle.

Special thank you: Chad Summers
