Name of Youth Involved in Yesterday's Fatal Accident Released, LIVINGSTON, September 25, 2017 - The name of the youth involved in yesterday's (09/24) accident is Fabian Cuevas, 17, of Livingston. Cuevas was east-bound on 190 East about five miles east of Livingston when his 2005 Toyota Tacoma drifted into the west-bound lanes causing a head on collision with a 2003 Ford Crown Victoria driven by Roland LaBome, 32, of Houston. Both Cuevas and LaBome sustained undisclosed injuries. LaBom's passenger, (his 78 year old grandmother) died a short time later from injuries sustained in the accident.

US-190 East, 4:30 pm on Sunday afternoon
Head On Collision Claims Life of Grandmother, SODA, September 24, 2017 - At approximately 4:30 pm on September 24, 2017, a white 2003 Ford Crown Victoria driven by Roland Ray LaBome, 32, of Houston, was west-bound on US-190 East (about 5 miles East of Livingston). LaBome slammed head on into a 2005 Toyota Tacoma driven by a Livingston youth. The youth was east-bound and drifted into the west-bound lane causing the head-on. Both vehicles came to rest in the middle of 190. Allegiance Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with the Livingston Volunteer Fire Department, Deputies from the Polk County Sheriff's Office, and Troopers Zach Lenderman and Kevin Burman with the Texas Highway Patrol. LaBome and the youth both sustained non-life threatening injuries and were transported by ambulance to CHI Livingston Memorial Hospital. LaBome's passenger, his grandmother, (78 year old, Mary Brown LaBome, of Houston) sustained critical injuries as EMS personnel began CPR. Mary LaBome was rushed to CHI by ambulance and passed a way a short time later. Traffic on both sides of 190 was blocked during investigation and cleanup. This accident remains under investigation by the Texas Highway Patrol. The youth's vehicle was recovered by Ken's Towing and will be stored at Harrison Body Shop in Livingston. LaBome's vehicle was recovered by Fawbush Body Shop and will be stored in Goodrich.
