Single Vehicle Rollover Accident Claims Life of Corrigan Man,TRINITY COUNTY, September 22, 2016 - On September 22, at approximately 8:30 p.m., Texas Department of Public Safety troopers investigated a one vehicle fatality crash on US 287, about six miles southeast of Groveton.
The preliminary crash investigation indicates a 2003 Chevrolet pick-up was traveling southeast on US 287 when the vehicle drove off the roadway, overcorrected and crossed back over US 287. After leaving the roadway the vehicle reportedly rolled over and struck a tree, ejecting the driver.
The driver of the vehicle was identified as 33-year-old Harrell Cap Helton III from Corrigan, TX. Helton was transported from the scene to Conroe Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased. This crash remains under investigation. No additional information is available at this time.
