Driver Wrecks ATV, Faces Felony Charges, LIVINGSTON, September 20, 2010 - At approximately 3:15 pm on September 20, 2010, a 2008 Kawasaki ATV driven by Blaine Zelek, 42, of Livingston, was apparently hot dogging on his 4 wheeler near his house on King Fisher Lane near Mangum road. According to witnesses, Zelek took off full throttle from a stop and went into a curve and rolled the large 4 wheeler. The ATV rolled on top of Zelek. Americare Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with the Scenic Loop Volunteer Fire Department, Deputies from the Polk Sheriff's Office, and DPS Trooper Kevin Burman. Zelek sustained incapacitating injuries and was loaded onto an ambulance and transported to Livingston Memorial Hospital. According to Trooper Burman, Zelek was intoxicated and faces felony charges for driving while intoxicated (3rd offense), operating an ATV on a county road (it's illegal to operate 4 wheelers on county roads), and driving with an expired license (Zelek's license expired in 1997). Zelek's ATV was rolled to his house by friends. The scene was cleared by 4:30 pm.
