Multiple Rollover Accident on FM-3277, LIVINGSTON, September 20, 2008 - A single vehicle multiple rollover accident occurred on FM-3277 near Scenic Loop Grocery. At approximately 5:05 pm a brown and white 1973 Chevy truck driven by Vernon Donnelly, Jr., 41, of Livingston was south bound on 3277 when his truck went off the road to the right and rolled multiple times ejecting both Donnelly and his passenger, Joshua Norred, also of Livingston. The truck came to rest upside down in the grass. Polk County Sheriff's Deputy, Scott Wright was the first responder to arrive on the scene. An Americare Ambulance arrived a short time later followed by Deputy Terri Mayer. DPS Trooper Sam Lattner was dispatched to the scene followed by Troopers Chris Stanbery, Nita Bowen, David Morris, and Darwon Evans. Also at the scene was the Scenic Loop Volunteer Fire Department. The south-bound lane of 3277 was blocked as the accident was being cleared and investigated. Donnelly was treated at the scene by an EMS crew from Americare and transported to Blanchard Baptist Church where he was Life-Flighted by PHI Helicopter to Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston with a collapsed lung and multiple other injuries while Joshua Norred was transported to Livingston Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Donnelly will be issued a citation for no insurance with other possible citations pending an investigation and toxicology reports. A rollback wrecker from LakeView Wrecker Service recovered the truck and it will be stored at LakeView Paint & Body Shop in Livingston. The scene was cleared and traffic fully flowing by 6:35 pm.
