Corporal Ramey Bass Speaks win 20 year old Allen Munoz of Livingston.
Driver Allegedly Rolls Pickup While Racing, HILLBILLY HEAVEN, September 13, 2013 - At around 6:55 pm on September 12, 2013, a rollover accident occurred in the subdivision of Hillbilly Heaven in South Polk County. Two pickups were allegedly racing east-bound on Hillbilly Heaven Road. The driver of a maroon colored Chevy pickup (Cory Lindsey, 19, of Livingston) left the unpaved road to the right, struck several culverts then swerved left to the other side of the road, struck another culvert and went airborne. Lindsey's truck slammed into some small trees and rolled coming to rest upside down. The other pickup (a black Chevy driven by Allen Munoz, 20, of Livingston) pulled to the side of the road and stopped. Americare Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with the South Polk County Volunteer Fire Department and Corporal Ramey Bass with the Texas Highway Patrol. The whole sordid affair was recorded on video by a resident with security cameras on their property (proof positive of the racing). The video will be used by the Texas Highway Patrol as evidence. Lindsey was treated at the scene and transported by ambulance to Livingston Memorial Hospital with undisclosed injuries. Traffic was partially blocked during investigation and cleanup. According to Trooper Bass, both drivers will be cited for racing. Due to the racing leading to an accident with injuries, the charge is a felony and will be brought before a grand jury. Lindsey's vehicle was recovered by a friend and taken to his residence.
Editor's Note: When our reporter arrived at the scene, he didn't have his camera so he used his i-phone to snap pictures. Because the of this, the pictures are of less quality and a little grainy. Our apologies. - Editor
