Accident Hospitalizes Livingston Woman, LIVINGSTON, September 13, 2009 - At approximately 5:25 pm on September 12, 2009, a green Chevy Cobalt driven by Wanda Basham, 62, of Livingston was south-bound coming off of Harwood Drive in Livingston. Basham had the green light and attempted to cross over US-190 East when she was broad sided by a older model green Toyota Corolla driven by Cade Henderson, 19, of Livingston. Henderson was east-bound on 190 and came to the light at FM-350. Henderson tried to beat the light before it turned red. When Basham pulled in front of Henderson, Henderson slammed on his brakes and they locked up. The road was wet from frequent rain and Henderson slid right into Basham's driver side of her vehicle. The impact knocked Basham's car into the grassy median spinning the car around facing north. Livingston Police Officers Rob Atkins and Sergeant Lewis Milner and Americare Ambulance Service were dispatched to the scene. The left lane of traffic on 190 East was blocked as the accident was being investigated and cleared. Americare transported Basham to Livingston Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Both parties had insurance. Wreckers from Harwood Wrecker Service recovered both vehicles. Basham's vehicle will be stored at Bounds Autoplex in Livingston while Henderson's will be stored at Harwood Wrecker Service in Livingston.
Henderson broad sided Wanda Basham's vehicle. Basham was taken via abmulance to Livingston Memorial Hospital.
Henderson's vehicle sustained heavy front end damage.
Both vehicles were recovered by Harwood Wrecker Service.
