Early Morning Accident Holds Up Traffic on FM-350S, LIVINGSTON, September 9, 2013 - At around 7:40 am on September 9, 2013, a blue 1993 Chevy pickup driven by Edward Thomas Simons, 50, of Livingston, was south-bound in the 700 block of FM-350 South.  Simons suddenly slammed into the front side of a white 1997 Jeep Wrangler driven by Tyler Aragon, 17, of Livingston.  Aragon attempted to pull out of his driveway but failed to yield to Simons.  Americare Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with the Livingston Volunteer Fire Department, Sergeant Rob Thomas with the Polk County Sheriff's Office and Trooper Darwon Evans with the Texas Highway Patrol.  Simons was treated at the scene and transported to Livingston Memorial Hospital with undisclosed injuries while Aragon was physically okay.  All traffic on 350 South was blocked during investigation and cleanup.  According to Trooper Evans, Aragon was cited for failure to yield right-of-way from a private drive.  A rollback wrecker from LakeView Wrecker recovered Simons' pickup and it will be stored in Livingston (Aragon's vehicle was pulled back into his driveway).  The roadway was reopened shortly before 9 am.
