Driver Slams SUV Into Tree, SCENIC LOOP, September 8, 2013 - At approximately 1:39 pm on September 8, 2013, a white 1999 Ford Explorer driven by Paige Destane Barnes, 17, of Livingston, was north-bound on FM-3126 near FM-3277.  Barnes allegedly attempted to pass another vehicle and lost control.  Her SUV left the road to the left and slammed into a tree coming to rest upright in her opposite direction of travel.  Americare Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with the Scenic Loop Volunteer Fire Department and Troopers Darwon Evans, Kevin Burman and Donny Akers.  Both Barnes and her male passenger were treated at the scene and transported to Livingston Memorial Hospital with undisclosed injuries.  Traffic was partially blocked during investigation and cleanup.  According to Trooper Evans, Barnes was cited for unsafe speed, no driver's license, and no seatbelt.  Her passenger was also cited for no seatbelt.  A rollback wrecker from Ken's Towing recovered the vehicle and it will be stored at Harrison Body Shop in Livingston.
