SUV Slams Pickup From Behind on 190 East, 2 Hospitalized, SODA, September 8, 2012 - At approximately 10 am on September 8, 2012, Gerladine S. Vandezande, 72, of Livingston, was waiting to make a left turn on 190 East at Soda Loop West when her green 2001 Ford F-150 was slammed from behind by a black 2011 Toyota RAV4 driven by Marion Brown Hilscher, 75, of Port Lavaca.  Both vehicles came to rest in the middle of 190.  Americare Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with the Livingston Volunteer Fire Department Heavy Rescue Unit, Sergeant Jason Paske with the Sheriff's Office and Troopers Allen Stanton and David Flowers with the Texas Highway Patrol.  Both women were removed from their vehicles and transported by ambulance to Livingston Memorial Hospital with undisclosed injuries.  Traffic was partially blocked on both sides of 190 as the accident was being investigated and cleared.  Marion Hilscher was cited for failure to control speed.  A rollback wrecker from Ken's Towing recovered both vehicles and they'll be stored at Harrison Body Shop in Livingston.  The scene was cleared in less than an hour.
