20 year old Traevione Plattenburg drove into the underbrush at the entrance of Country Sunrise subdivision off FM-1988 East.
Young Driver Crashes Car, Arrested for DWI, GOODRICH, September 6, 2014 - At approximately 6:15 am on September 6, 2014 a black Chrysler 200 driven by Traevione Plattenburg, 20, of Livingston, was west-bound on FM-1988 East. Plattenburg's vehicle left the road to the right and drove into the underbrush at the entrance of the Counrty Sunrise Subdivision off of FM-1988 East. Plattenburg then allegedly fled the scene. Sergeant Darrell Newman, with Livingston Police Department was returning home from work when he came upon the situation. Newman pulled up, still in uniform, and investigated the situation. Plattenburg then returned in an SUV (with his wife) with a rope attached to the SUV and got out and was about to try to pull his car out with the rope. Plattenburg stated to Newman that he was going to pull the vehicle out and leave. Newman saw things differently. He ordered Plattenburg to remain at the scene and contacted the Polk County Sheriff's Office. Deputy Dustin Lowery was dispatched to the scene. Lowery detained Plattenburg and summoned a trooper. Troopers Donny Akers and Ashley McBride were dispatched. Upon arrival, Trooper Akers conducted a field sobriety test on Plattenburg and placed him under arrest for driving while intoxicated. Plattenburg was allegedly intoxicated on some type of drugs (not alcohol). Plattenburng's wife was sent away from the scene and went home. Plattenburng's vehicle was recovered from the scene by a local wrecker service.
An SUV with a rope attached was backed up to Palttenburgn's vehicle.
Trooper Donny Akers placed Plattenburg under arrest for driving while intoxicated.
