Driver Strikes Other Vehicle, Arrested for DWI, GOODRICH, September 5, 2020 - At approximately 2 am on September 5, 2020, a black 2015 Hyundai Tucson, driven by Benny Oguinn, Jr., 26, of Livingston, was south-bound on US-59. Oguinn struck a trailer from behind that was being pulled by a pickup (near Lone Star Charlie's restaurant). Allegiance Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with Deputies from the Polk County Sheriff's Office and Trooper Chris Cain with the Texas Highway Patrol. Fortunately, there were no injuries. However, Trooper Cain executed a field sobriety test on Oguinn and placed Oguinn under arrest for driving while intoxicated. Oguinn admitted to have been drinking beer prior to driving. His vehicle was recovered by Fawbush Wrecker Service and will be stored in Goodrich. The other vehicle was drivable and was driven from the scene.
After executing a field sobriety test on Oguinn, Trooper Chris Cain placed Oguinn under arrest for driving while intoxicated.
