Goodrich Man Sustains Major Injuries in Motorcycle Accident, LIVINGSTON, September 4, 2010 - At approximately 1 am on September 4, 2010, Janice A.White, 50 of Livingston, was west-bound on FM-2457 in her gray 1998 Hyundai Accent.  White attempted to make a left turn onto Everglade Street when she was struck by a west-bound black Harley Davidson driven by Ronnie Dwayne Wooten, 44, of Goodrich.  Wooten came up from behind White and attempted to pass in a no passing zone just as White turned left.  The collision was a glancing blow that caused heavy damage to White's vehicle and sent Wooten sliding out of control, off the road.  Wooten was ejected from his motorcycle and sustained serious injuries to his head, arms, body and legs.  When EMS personnel arrived, Wooten was unresponsive and unconscious.  Sergeant Christian Schanmier and Deputy Mike Nettles (both with the Polk County Sheriff's Office) were dispatched to the scene along with Trooper Ramey Bass with the Texas Highway Patrol.  Wooten was loaded onto a PHI Air Medical Helicopter and transported to Hermann Hospital in Houston where he remains in critical condition.  The east-bound lane of traffic was blocked and re-routed during investigation and cleanup.  Janice White had insurance, Wooten's insurance is unconfirmed.  Pending an investigation, Ronnie Wooten could face citations for passing in a no passing zone and failure to control speed.   A rollback wrecker from Fawbush Wrecker Service recovered Wooten's vehicle and it will be stored at Fawbush Body Shop in Goodrich.  The scene was cleared b y 3:15 am.
