Large Truck Turns Over, No Injuries, ONALASKA, September 2, 2024 - At approximately 10:50 am on September 2, 2024, the driver of a large dump truck size truck was hauling removed underbrush and other removed vegetation on FM-3152. The driver attempted a left turn onto 190 West off of 3152 but his brakes failed as his truck continued across 190 and into a ditch where it turned over. There were no injuries. Onalaska Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to the scene along with Corporal Ramey Bass with the Texas Highway Patrol and was assisted by Trooper Damon Zarrati. Traffic on the east-bound side of 190 was partially blocked during investigation and cleanup. No citations were issued as this was a mechanical failure. A heavy-duty wrecker was sent for to clean up the mess.
An identical truck that was part of the crew pulled to the shoulder of 190.
Corporal Ramey Bass was the primary accident investigator.
Little Bit the Dog witnessed everything from his front yard.
