2 Vehicle Accident, LIVINGSTON, September 2, 2020 - At approximately 10:02 am on September 2, 2020, a gray 2008 Honda Accord, driven by Alba Marina Escobar, 25, of Honduras, was pulled to the shoulder of the US-59 bypass in North Livingston. Escobar was changing a flat tire. When Escobar pulled back onto the bypass, she was slammed seconds later by a red Ford Escape, driven by David Anderson, 54, of Houston. The impact pushed both vehicles into the center median. Allegiance Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with Officer Scott Paske with Livingston Police Department, Corporal Ramey Bass with the Texas Highway Patrol, and Deputy Rey Davalos with the Polk County Sheriff's Office. Anderson suffered a possible broken collar bone and was transported by ambulance to CHI Livingston Memorial Hospital. Escobar and her passengers appeared to be physically okay, but were transported by ambulance to CHI as a precautionary measure. Traffic was not blocked during investigation and cleanup. Anderson is facing a citation for failure to control speed. Both vehicles were recovered by Ken's Towing and will be stored a Harrison Body Shop in Livingston.
