4 People Hospitalized From Major Accident at Scenic Loop, LIVINGSTON, September 2, 2008 - At approximately 4:50 pm on September 2, 2008, 4 people were hospitalized following a major accident on FM-3277. The accident occurred when a 1994 gold Cadillac Sedan DeVille driven by Vince L. Faust, 18, of Livingston came to a stop sign at Summitt Drive and attempted a right turn onto 3277. Faust failed to yield right-of-way to a red 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe driven by Juanita Dudley, 72, also of Livingston. Dudley's vehicle slammed into Faust's vehicle and spun Faust's vehicle around as it came to rest facing east on 3277 while Dudley's vehicle went into a ditch. DPS Troopers Brent Murray and Nita Bowen were dispatched to the scene of the accident. Polk County Sheriff's Deputy, Chris Lima was the first responder to arrive. Also at the scene was Constable Precinct 1, Charlie Clack, and the Scenic Loop Volunteer Fire Department. 4 Ambulances from Americare Ambulance service arrived and began treating drivers and passengers of both vehicles. Faust and his two passengers were transported to Livingston Memorial Hospital while Dudley's husband was also transported to Livingston Memorial, all by Ambulance. Both lanes of 3277 were blocked as the accident was being investigated and cleared. Both drivers had insurance. Faust will be issued a citation for failure to stop at a stop sign. Faust's vehicle was towed away from the scene by a rollback wrecker from Ken's towing and will be stored at Harrison Body Shop in Livingston while Dudley's vehicle was towed by rollback wrecker from Harwood Wrecker Service and will be stored at Bounds Chevrolet in Livingston. The scene was cleared before 7 pm.
