3 People Hospitalized, 1 by Life Flight in Major Accident on US-190, LIVINGSTON, August 31, 2008 - A major accident on US-190 East sent 3 people to the hospital, 1 by life flight. At approximately 9:50 am on August 30, 2008 a dark blue 2002 Chrysler Town & Country Mini-Van driven by Rosie Bunting, 26, of Livingston, was east-bound on 190 East and slowed down to turn left onto a property (about 1 mile east of Polk County One Stop) when she was slammed from behind by a dark blue 1993 Chevy Truck driven by Brittney Ellen Burns, 20, of Houston. The mini-van went off the road to the left of the highway while the truck went off to the right and into the trees. DPS Troopers Donny Akers, Sam Lattner, and Polk County Sheriff's Deputy Mike Nettles were dispatched to the scene. Bunting had two small children with her. Bunting and one of her children were transported to Livingston Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries while Burns was life-flighted to Hermann Hospital in Houston. Four citations were issued (2 to Bunting for no insurance and no driver's license, and 2 to Burns for no insurance and failure to control speed).
