Trooper Cotye Lowrie is the primary investigator.
Driver Rolls Vehicle, 2 Flown, GOODRICH, August 24, 2023 - Shortly after 3 am on August 24, 2023, a white 2014 Subaru Impreza, was south-bound on US-59.  For some reason, the driver left the pavement to the left and entered the center median.  The driver, a sixteen year old male Guatemalan national from Little Rock, Arkansas, attempted to pull out of the median and ended up rolling the vehicle which came to rest upright facing north (just north of the Goodrich Truckstop).  During the roll over, a male passenger was ejected and the car rolled on top of him, but he was in a low spot and the car didn't crush him.  The passenger who was ejected did sustain major head injuries.  The driver also had major injuries.  There was a female passenger who might have had a broken wrist.  The two males were transported by ambulance to a landing zone and flown from Livingston.  The female was transported by ambulance to CHI Livingston Memorial Hospital.  Polk County Sheriff's Deputies including Corporal Adrian Ontiveros, Shania Wood, and Simon Prince were dispatched to the scene along with Trooper Cotye Lowrie with the Texas Highway Patrol.  The driver is likely facing a citation for failure to maintain a single lane of traffic.  Traffic was not blocked during investigation and cleanup.  The vehicle was recovered by Ken's Towing and will be stored at Harrison Body Shop in Livingston.  This accident remains under investigation by the Texas Highway Patrol.
