Accident Hospitalizes 2, SOUTH POLK COUNTY, August 24, 2020 - At approximately 10:15 am on August 24, 2020, a silver 2014 Ford Escape, driven by Maudie Brown, 56, of Onalaska, was south-bound on US-146. Brown's vehicle suddenly impacted a navy blue 2004 Honda Odyssey, driven by Victoria Dickey, 29, of Livingston. Dickey was north-bound on 146 and attempted a left turn into the parking lot of R&D Grocery (aka Future Wise) and allegedly failed to yield to Brown. The impact sent Brown into the weeds on the north-bound side while Dickey's vehicle came to rest on the pavement. Allegiance Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with the Livingston Volunteer Fire Department, and Troopers Corporal Ramey Bass, Nick Hatton, and Kevin Burman with the Texas Highway Patrol. Both Dickey and Brown were transported by ambulance to CHI Livingston Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Traffic on 146 was partially blocked during investigation and cleanup. No citations have yet been issued as the accident is still under investigation. Brown's vehicle was recovered by Ken's Towing and will be stored at Harrison Body Shop in Livingston. Dickey's vehicle was recovered by LakeView Wrecker and will be stored in Livingston.
