61 year old John Albert Shelwood, of Jackson, Mississippi, lost control of his 18 wheeler in a sudden storm in Moscow.
Sudden Storm Causes Rig Driver to Lose Control, Jack Knife, MOSCOW, August 23, 2016 - At approximately 2 pm on August 23, 2016, 61  year old John Albert Shelwood, of Jackson, Mississippi, was north-bound on US-59 in the vicinity of Moscow when he ran into a sudden rain storm.  As Shelwood went into a dip in the road, his truck began to slide.  Shelwood lost complete control of his 18 wheeler as it left the pavement to the right and jack knifed in the muddy grass.  Americare Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with The Corrigan Volunteer Fire Department and Troopers Nick Hatton and Allen Stanton with the Texas Highway Patrol.  Shelwood's passenger was transported to CHI Livingston Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.  Traffic on the north-bound side of 59 was partially blocked during investigation and cleanup.  No citations were issued.  Riley's Wrecker Service out of Corrigan was summoned to clean up the mess.
