Head On Collision Hospitalizes 3 (1 flown to Houston), SWARTWOUT, August 18, 2020 - At approximately 5 pm on August 18, 2020, a gray 2017 Nissan Murano, driven by Yvonne Bachert, 72, of Livingston, was west-bound on FM-1988 West (less than a mile east of FM-3278). Bachert was in a curve when she had a head on collision with a black 1993 Chevy S10 driven by Jesus Robledo, 56, of Goodrich. Robledo was attempting to pass in a no passing zone when he collided with Bachert. Allegiance Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with Goodrich and Livingston Volunteer Fire Departments, Captain Ricky Childers with the Polk County Sheriff's Office and Trooper Chris Cain with the Texas Highway Patrol. Robledo, his passenger (Rafaela Quesada), and Bachert were hospitalized. An Air Life helicopter landed in a nearby field and flew Quesada to Houston. Bachert and Robledo were both transported by ambulance to CHI Livingston Memorial Hospital. All traffic on 1988 was blocked during investigation and cleanup. Robledo was cited for passing in a no passing zone and no driver's license. Bachert's vehicle was recovered by LakeView Wrecker and will be stored in Livingston. Robledo's vehicle was recovered by Fawbush Wrecker and will be stored in Goodrich.
