Major Accident, 2 Flown to Houston, Alcohol Suspected, LIVINGSTON, August 18, 2012 - At around midnight on August 18, 2012, a red Mazda pickup driven by Jeremy Pixley, 17, of Lufkin, was west-bound on US-190 West near Jewel Coleman road when he was suddenly slammed head-on by an east-bound black Chevy Cobalt driven by Casey Jean Hargraves, 56, of Conroe. Hargraves was allegedly driving east-bound in the west-bound lanes causing the accident. Both vehicles came to rest on the west-bound side of 190. Americare Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with the Livingston Volunteer Fire Department, officers from Livingston Police Department, and Troopers Ramey Bass and Chris Caine. Emergency personnel removed Hargraves' passenger who was loaded onto an ambulance. Hargraves was trapped in her now mangled vehicle. Firemen used the Jaws-of-Life to free Hargraves for EMS Personnel. Both Hargraves and her passenger were loaded onto helicopters from PHi Air Medical and flown to Herman Hospital in Houston with incapacitating injuries. As for Jeremy Pixley, both he and his passenger were driven to Livingston Memorial Hospital for precautinary reasons. According to witnesses, driver Casey Hargraves had just left Buster Mcnutty's. Hargraves was wearing a Buster McNutty's wrist band. According to Trooper Bass, Pixley was cited for no driver's license, and Hargraves is facing the charge of driving while intoxicated. A rollback wrecker from Ken's Towing recovered Hargraves' vehicle and it will be stored at Harrison Body Shop in Livingston, while Pixley's vehicle was recovered by rollback wrecker from Harwood Wrecker Service and will be stored at 101 Harwood Drive in Livingston. The scene was cleared by 1:30 am.
