PHI Air Medical lifts off from Livingston Airport.
Woman Flown to Houston Following Major Accident, LIVINGSTON, August 19, 2009 - According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, at approximately 11:42 pm on August 18, 2009, a tan 1993 Ford Explorer driven by Susan V. Murray, 46, of Livingston was north-bound on FM-3277. Murray was coming out of an "S" curve on 3277 when her SUV left the road to the left and slammed head-on into a tree. Americare Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with DPS Troopers Kevin Burman, Brent Murray, Deputy Billy Duke, and the Scenic Loop Volunteer Fire Department. Murray was removed from her vehicle and placed on an Ambulance and treated at the scene before being transported to Livingston Airport where a PHI Air Medical helicopter landed and transported Murray to Hermann Hospital in Houston. According to Trooper Burman, Murray will be issued citations for failure to control speed, failure to maintain a single marked lane, and pending toxicology reports, could receive a citation for driving while intoxicated. Murray did have insurance. A rollback wrecker from Ken's Towing recovered Murray's vehicle and it will be stored at Harrison Body Shop in Livingston. The scene was cleared by 1:10 am.
