Wrong Way Driver Causes Head-On Accident, GOODRICH, August 15, 2010 - At approximately 12:25 am on August 15, 2010, driver Sidney Souza, 21, of Phoenix, Arizona, pulled out of the Goodrich truck stop after taking a nap in his car. Souza was enroute to visit his mother in Houston. When Souza left the parking lot of the truck stop, he made a left and began heading south but was unknowingly driving in the north-bound lanes of US-59. Souza drove as far as Windham Ranch Road in Goodrich before having a head-on Collision with a silver 2006 Ford 500 driven by Natasha Renee Green, 27, of Houston. Souza's silver 2003 Toyota Corolla came to rest on the right shoulder of 59 facing north while Green's vehicle came to rest in the middle of 59 facing east. Americare Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with the Deputies from the Polk County Sheriff's Office and DPS Troopers Darwon Evans and David Morris. Souza was physically okay but Natasha Green and her mother and 5 year old daughter were transported to Livingston Memorial Hospital with undisclosed injuries. All traffic on the north-bound side of 59 was blocked during investigation and cleanup. According to Trooper Evans, Souza was issued a citation for driving on the wrong side of the highway. Both parties had insurance. A rollback wrecker from Ken's Towing recovered Souza's vehicle and it will be stored at Harrison Body Shop in Livingston while Greens vehicle was recovered by Harwood Wrecker Service and it will be stored at 101 Harwood Drive in Livingston. The scene was cleared by 1:45 am.

The driver of this vehicle was north-bound. Driver Natasha Renee Green of Houston and her 2 passengers were transported to Livingston Memorial Hospital by ambulance.
