Driver Crashes Into House, Arrested for DWI, LIVINGSTON, August 13, 2017 - Shortly after 5 am on August 13, 2017, a white, 2008 Mitsubishi Galant, driven by Kaytlynn Rice, 20, of Livingston, was west-bound on Pratt Road. Rice had just left a nearby party in the neighborhood. Her vehicle left the pavement to the left, crashed through a chain link fence, and then slammed into an abandoned house. Rice was able to get out of the wreckage. An ambulance was dispatched to the scene, but Rice was physically okay and refused medical transport. Deputy Teddy Sims was dispatched to the scene along with Trooper Ashlee White with the Texas Highway Patrol and later Trooper Allen Stanton. Trooper White conducted a field sobriety test on Rice and placed her under arrest for driving while intoxicated. Rice could be facing other charges as the investigation continues. A rollback wrecker from Ken's Towing recovered Rice's vehicle and it will be stored at Harrison Body Shop in Livingston.
