Driver Rolls Truck on 350 North, Alcohol Suspected, LIVINGSTON, August 14, 2010 - Shortly after 10 pm on August 13, 2010, a gray 2003 Chevy Silverado driven by Darryl Scott Matthews, 40, of Livingston was north-bound on FM-350 North when his truck left the road to the left, struck a culvert, and rolled. Matthews' truck came to rest on its passenger's side facing the woods. Americare Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with the Livingston Volunteer Fire Department Heavy Rescue Unit, Deputy Vance Berry, Sergeant Christian Schanmier and DPS Trooper David Morris. Matthews was trapped in his vehicle. Firemen utilized the jaws-of-life to cut the roof off of Matthews' truck. Emergency personnel removed Matthews from his vehicle and transported him to Livingston Memorial Hospital with incapacitating injuries. All traffic on 350 North was blocked during investigation and cleanup. Alcohol is suspected in this accident and pending toxicology reports, Matthews could be charged with driving while intoxicated. A rollback wrecker from Ken's Towing recovered Matthews' vehicle and it will be stored at Harrison Body Shop in Livingston. The scene was cleared and traffic fully flowing around midnight.
