57 year old Angel Pino (pictured) of Miami, Florida, was not injured when his 18 wheeler had a blowout and rolled on US-59 in New Willard.
18 Wheeler Has Blowout, Turns Over, NEW WILLARD, August11, 2019 - At approximately 8 pm on August 11, 2019, an 18 wheeler (hauling refrigerated trailer loaded with frozen food), driven by Angel Pino, 57, of Miami, Florida, was south-bound on US-59.  According to Pino, one of his front tires had a blow out and caused him to lose control.  His rig turned over with the tractor portion laying sideways in the center median and the attached trailer laid on its side completely blocking the south-bound lanes.  Troopers John Allen and Ashlee White with the Texas Highway Patrol were dispatched to the scene and were assisted by Sergeant Javier Segura with the Polk County Sheriff's Office.  Fortunately, Pino was not injured in the accident.  A heavy duty wrecker with Clifton Chevrolet, out of Corrigan was summoned to clean up the mess.  At time of press, 11:30 pm, the accident is still being cleaned up and the highway is still blocked.
