Jimmy Hickman's truck lays on its driver's side after avoiding a collision with another vehicle.
Driver Avoids Collision but Rolls Truck, SODA, August 8, 2010 - At approximately 5:45 pm on August 8, 2010, a silver 2004 Dodge Ram driven by Jimmy Nathaniel Hickman, 50, of Livingston, was east-bound on US-190 East in Soda. According to Hickman, he took his eyes off the road for a moment and when he looked up he nearly slammed into a vehicle that had stopped on 190 and was waiting to make a left turn into the parking lot of Soda Baptist Church. Hickman took evasive action and swerved to the right avoiding a collision. His vehicle left the road and rolled. Hickman's vehicle came to rest on the driver's side in the grass. Americare Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with DPS Trooper Kevin Burman. EMS personnel checked Hickman at the scene and amazingly he was physically okay. Hickman did have insurance. A rollback wrecker from Harwood Wrecker Service recovered Hickman's vehicle and it will be stored at 101 Harwood Drive in Livingston. No citations were issued. The scene was cleared before 7 pm.
