Strange Wreck, 4 Hospitalized, LIVINGSTON, August 5, 2022 - At approximately 2:43 pm on August 5, 2022, a gray 2018 Chrysler Pacifica, driven by Adrian Royce Meredith, 42, of Pottsville, Arkansas, was north-bound on US-59 just south of the Livingston City Limits. Meredith struck a black 2007 Chevy Silverado pickup that pulled in front of him from the crossover (directly across from the entrance of Lakeside Village). The Chevy pickup was driven by James Hilliard Wright, 79, of Moscow. Meredith slid to the right shoulder of 59 while Hilliard, somehow, was spun around, possibly disoriented, and drove southward and veered off the pavement and into an open field at the entrance of Lakeside Village and came to rest near a tree nearly 100 yards into the field. Allegiance Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with the Livingston Volunteer Fire Department, and Troopers Kevin Burman and Nick Hatton with the Texas Highway Patrol. Both Meredith and his female passenger, and Wright and his wife were all transported to CHI Livingston Memorial Hospital with undisclosed injuries (3 by ambulance, 1 by private vehicle). Traffic on the north-bound side of 59 was blocked during investigation and cleanup. Wright was cited for failure to yield right-of-way. Meredith's vehicle was recovered by LakeView Wrecker and will be stored in Livingston. Wright's vehicle was recovered by Ken's Towing and will be stored at Harrison Body Shop in Livingston.
