The drive shaft from James McKenzie's 18 wheeler logging truck lays in the grass on the other side of the road from where his truck wiped out.
Logging Truck Loses Drive Shaft and Rolls, MOSCOW, August 5, 2010 - Shortly before 9 am on August 5, 2010 a red Kenworth Logging truck driven by James McKenzie, 34, of Huntington, Texas was east-bound on FM-62 a few miles east of US-59 when, according to McKenzie, he heard a loud bang.  The bang apparently came from under his truck (which had a full load pine tree logs).  McKenzie's drive shaft became detached from his truck as he slid out of control and turned over spilling logs to the right side of the road.  The truck and trailer came to rest on its side in the east-bound lane of 62.  Amerciare Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with DPS Trooper Ramey Bass.  McKenzie was removed from his vehicle and treated by EMS personnel at the scene before being transported by ambulance to Lufkin Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.  McKenzie did have insurance and no citations were issued for mechanical failure.  The vehicle was recovered by Riley Wrecker Service out of Corrigan where it will be stored.

Special thank you:  Ken with Ken's Towing
Trooper Ramey Bass with the Texas Highway Patrol investigated the accident.
A deep gouge in the road shows where the drive shaft dug into the pavement.
