Rollover Accident, 2 Flown, Intoxication Suspected, SWARTWOUT, August 3, 2019 - At approximately 2:45 am on August 3, 2019, a green 2005 Cadillac Escalade, driven by Estabislao Ortiz, 43, of Houston was south-bound on FM-1988 South (just south of the Trinity River Authority). Ortiz entered a curve too fast, left the pavement to the right, over corrected left, lost control and rolled. His vehicle came to rest upside down in the road. Ortiz was ejected during the rollover. Allegiance Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with Captain Rickie Childers and Corporal William Land with the Polk County Sheriff's Office and Trooper Colton McQuilkin with the Texas Highway Patrol. Ortiz and his passenger, Stephen Kasprzak, 30, of Houston, were both transported by ambulance to landing zones and flown to Conroe Regional Hospital with serious injuries. Both men smelled heavily of alcohol. The vehicle had an open case of cold beer. Pending toxicology reports, Ortiz might be facing the charge of driving while intoxicated. Both men received multiple citations. Ortiz's vehicle was recovered by Ken's Towing and will be stored at Harrison Body Shop in Livingston.

Ortiz's vehicle was turned upright and recovered by Ken's Towing.
