Rollover Accident is Turns Fatal, GOODRICH, August 2, 2023 - At approximately 2:50 pm on August 2, 2023, a white 2004 Honda Odyssey was west-bound on FM-1988 East. The driver apparently entered a curve too fast in the 1006 block of 1988 East. Her vehicle left the pavement to the right, she then over corrected to the left, left the pavement, and proceeded down into a creek where her vehicle turned over coming to rest upside down (about a mile east of US-59). Sadly, the driver, Ilcel Pacheco, 30, of Livingston, was killed on impact. There were three small children in the van. Alegiance Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with the Goodrich and Livingston Volunteer Fire Departments, Deputies from the Polk County Sheriff's Office, Constable Mike Nettles, and Troopers Nick Hatton, Cotye Lowrie, Corporal Ramey Bass, and Sergeant Sam Lattner with the Texas Highway Patrol. Two of the children were transported by ambulance to Kingwood Hospital, a third child was flown to Texas Children's Hospital in Houston. Justice of the Peace, Robert "Dooley" Johnson filed an inquest at the scene. Pacheco was transported from the scene by a first call car from Cochran Funeral Home. Traffic on 1988 East was partially blocked during investigation and cleanup. Pacheco's vehicle was recovered by LakeView Wrecker and will be stored in Livingston. Pacheco was the mother of the three children. This accident remains under investigation by the Texas Highway Patrol.
