Child on Scooter Struck by Vehicle, BLANCHARD, July 31, 2025 - At approximately 6:25 pm on July 31, 2025, a white Chevy Traverse, driven by Bertha Alicia Granados, 59, of Livingston, was west-bound on Eastepp road when the a small child's motorized scooter pulled out of a mobile home park directly in front of Granados' vehicle. The vehicle struck the small girl knocking her off the bike. Allegiance Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with The Scenic Loop Volunteer Fire Department, Deputies from the Polk County Sheriff's Office, and Troopers Simon Mijares and Cesar Davila with The Texas Highway Patrol. The girl was frightened and shook up. She did sustain minor injuries, and was transported by ambulance to CHI Livingston Memorial Hospital. Granados' vehicle was not damaged and was driven from the scene. The motorized kids scooter was taken home by family.
A small child (girl) pulled out of a mobile home park driveway onto Eastepp Road and failed to yield to an oncoming vehicle.
59 year old Bertha Alicia Granados, of Livingston, was driving this Chevy Traverse west-bound on Eastepp when the child pulled suddenly in front of her. Granados was not a fault, and was not cited in the accident.
