Pickup Slammed from Behind, No Injuries, SCHWAB CITY, July 29, 2024 - Shortly before 1 pm on July 29, 2024, a tan older model Dodge Dakota was north-bound on US-146 and slowed to make a turn (next to Forest Springs subdivision) when she was slammed from behind by a black Mitsubishi Outlander. The impact spun the Dodge around to over the other lane and to the shoulder while the Mitsubishi came to rest right there. Allegiance Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with Deputy Perk Oscarwitch with the Polk County Sheriff's Office and Trooper Sean Barnes with the Texas Highway Patrol. Amazingly, there were no injuries. Traffic was partially blocked during investigation and cleanup. The driver of the Dodge was cited for no driver's license and no insurance, while the driver of the Mitsubishi was cited for no driver's license and failure to control speed. Both vehicles were recovered by LakeView Wrecker ouf of Livingston.
