Officers Kevin Blackburn (left) and Kevin Ward investigate.
Driver Crashes Into Utility Pole, Facing Charge for Marijuana and More, LIVINGSTON, July 27, 2015 - At around 10 am on July 27, 2015, a blue 2003 Chevy Tahoe, driven by Alexis Bustos Zapata, 17, of Livingston, was north-bound on North Houston.  Evidence suggests that Zapata was traveling too fast and lost control of his vehicle.  His vehicle turned sideways and slammed (passenger's side) into a utility pole on North Houston at Clark Road.  Americare Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with the Livingston Volunteer Fire Department and Officers Kevin Blackburn and Kevin Ward with the Livingston Police Department.  Zapata was removed from his vehicle and transported by ambulance to CHI Livingston Memorial Hospital with undisclosed injuries.  All traffic on North Houston was blocked during investigation and cleanup.  Zapata was cited for unsafe speed, no driver's license, and is also facing the charge of possession of marijuana.  A rollback wrecker from Ken's Towing recovered Zapata's vehicle and it will be stored at Harrison Body Shop in Livingston.

Special thank you:  Ken with Ken's Towing
