Accident ivestigators Trooper Donny Akers (left) and Corporal Ramey Bass on US-146 (just north of Escapees RV Park)
Driver Falls Asleep, Rolls Pickup, LIVINGSTON, July 26, 2015 - At approximately 6:25 am on July 26, 2015, a tan Ford pickup, driven by Kade Burman, 20, of Livingston was north-bound on US-146.  Burman (an athlete with Lamar University in Beaumont) apparently fell asleep at the wheel and lost control of his vehicle causing it to roll.  His vehicle came to rest upside down in the grass on the left side of 146.  Americare Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with Sergeant Lee Rogers with the Polk County Sheriff's Office, Deputy Janie Cain, also with the Sheriff's Office and Corporal Ramey Bass and Trooper Donny Akers with the Texas Highway Patrol.  Fortunately, Burman appeared to only sustain a few scrapes and bruises.  He was transported by ambulance to CHI Livingston Memorial Hospital for precautionary reasons.  Traffic on 146 was partially blocked during investigation and cleanup.  A rollback wrecker from Ken's Towing recovered Burman's pickup and it will be stored at Harrison Body Shop in Livingston.

Special thank you:  Ken with Ken's Towing

Burman's dad showed up on the scene. After a short while, he heard a familiar bark. Mr. Burman turned around to find that their dog, Abby, who was in the truck during the rollover happily returned to the scene.
Everybody inlcuding Abby was okay.
Burman's vehicle was turned upright and recovered by Ken's Towing.
