US-59 Near Goat Hill Road on Tuesday afternoon (07/22/20)

18 Wheeler Turns Over, No Injuries, NORTH POLK COUNTY, July 22, 2020 - At approximately 1:30 pm on July 22, 2020, a black 18 wheeler that was loaded with cargo was south-bound on US-59 near Goat Hill Road. There was another 18 wheeler further south on 59 that was having problems and blocking traffic. The driver apparently failed to notice the backed up traffic and swerved to avoid another vehicle, clipped it, then turned over his 18 wheeler. The trailer portion of the rig tore open as cargo in boxes came out. Trooper Allen Stanton and other local Troopers, Sheriff's Deputies, and Corrigan Police Department were dispatched to the scene. Fortunately there were no injuries, however traffic was now backed up even worse. A heavy duty wrecker and crew from Riley Wrecker Service out of Corrigan were summoned to clean up the mess.

Special thank you: Ken with Ken's Towing
