A 2002 Mack Dump Truck lays on its side on FM-1988 East.
Dump Truck Turns Over, Driver Hospitalized, GOODRICH, July 22, 2011 - At approximately 8:15 am on July 22, 2011, a white 2002 Mack Dump Truck driven by Phillip Kay, 40, of Livingston, was east-bound on FM-1988 East.  According to Kay, the steering messed up and he lost control causing the empty dump truck to turn over on its side.  Americare Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with volunteer firemen from Livingston and Goodrich, Deputy Glen Edwards and Trooper Joe Cole with the Texas Highway Patrol.  Kay was treated by EMS Personnel at the scene and loaded onto an ambulance and transported to Livingston Memorial Hospital with undisclosed injuries.  The west-bound lane of 1988 was blocked during investigation and cleanup.  No citations have been issued as the accident is under investigation.  At time of press (9:45 am), the truck is still being recovered by Riley Wrecker Service out of Corrigan and will be towed to J&C Body Shop in Livingston.
