Accident Hospitalizes 5, LIVINGSTON, July 21, 2020 - At approximately 6:32 pm on July 21, 2020, a black 2011 Ford Focus, driven by Zane Cedars, 18, of Livingston, pulled into a crossover on Pan American Drive. Cedars attempted to pull across the south-bound lanes of Pan American into the parking lot (parking lot where Boot Barn is located). Cedars failed to yield to a silver south-bound 2019 Chevy Impala, driven by James Hinton of Mississippi (were not able to ascertain Hinton's age and town in Mississippi). Hinton's vehicle slammed into Cedars' vehicle. The impact spun Cedars' vehicle around facing his opposite direction of travel. Hinton's vehicle slid left, and impacted a red Jeep Cherokee that was waiting to exit the parking lot, then continued left and struck a white Ford F-250 that was waiting behind the red Cherokee. Allegiance Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with the Livingston Volunteer Fire Department and Officers Jared Zolman and Sergeant Chad Ward with the Livingston Police Department. Hinton and his three passengers were transported by ambulance to CHI Livingston Memorial Hospital with undisclosed injuries. Cedars and his passenger were also transported to CHI by private vehicle. Traffic on the south-bound side of Pan American was blocked during investigation and cleanup. Cedars was cited for failure to yield and no insurance. Cedars' vehicle and Hinton's vehicle were both recovered by Ken's Towing and will be stored at Harrison Body Shop in Livingston. The other two vehicles were driven from the scene.
