Richard Bruggman's 2011 Mazda 3 sits (apparently totaled) in the middle of 190 West. Bruggman failed to control his speed and slammed another vehicle from behind.
3 Vehicle Mishap Hospitalizes One, LIVINGSTON, July 20, 2011 - At approximately 11:10 am on July 20, 2011, Simon Castro was west-bound on US-190 West near First National Bank. Castro was slowing down for traffic when he was slammed from behind by a gray 2011 Mazda 3 driven by Richard Bruggman, 58, of Livingston. The collision pushed Castro's 1996 Chevy Astro to the left causing it to strike a trailer being pulled by Robert Davis, 56, of Shepherd. Castro managed to pull his van into the parking lot of Backyard Oasis. Bruggman's vehicle came to rest on the road, and Robert Davis pulled over to the right shoulder. Americare Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with Officers from the Livingston Police Department including Kevin Ward, Chad Lilley, Marty Drake, Chad Ward and Sergeant Ronny Bogany. Traffic was partially blocked during investigation and cleanup.
Richard Bruggman was transported to Livingston Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. According to LPD, Bruggman was cited for failure to control speed and Castro was cited for no insurance. Both Castro's Chevy Astro and Bruggman's Mazda 3 were recovered by Harwood Wrecker Service and will be stored at 101 Harwood Drive in Livingston. The scene was cleared shortly after 12 pm.

The van clipped this trailer being pulled by this Dodge truck. The damage to this trailer was minimal.
Richard Bruggman was transported to Livingston Memorial Hospital by Ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries.
