76 year old Carroll Ray Vanskike, of Livingston, was transported by ambulance to CHI Livingston Memorial Hospital.
Collision Hospitalizes 1, LIVINGSTON, July 19, 2020 - At approximately 7 am on July 19, 2020, a white 2019 Infinity QX-80, driven by Alana Marie Carpenter, 39, of Livingston, was north-bound on FM-350 North near Horace Bonds Road. According to Carpenter, she was distracted by eating causing her vehicle to veer left, cross the center line and clip a white 1997 Ford Ranger, driven by Carroll Ray Vanskike, 76, of Livingston. Carpenter's vehicle continued left and struck the guard rail. Carpenter's vehicle came to rest a short distance further north in the south-bound lane. Vanskike's vehicle came to rest on the bridge. Allegiance Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with the Livingston Volunteer Fire Department Heavy Rescue Unit, Deputies from the Polk County Sheriff's Office and Trooper Kevin Burman with the Texas Highway Patrol. Vanskike was trapped in his vehicle as the door was jammed. Firemen used the Jaws-of-Life to cut the door off. Vanskike was transported by ambulance to CHI Livingston Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Carpenter was physically okay. All traffic on 350 was blocked during investigation and cleanup. Carpenter was cited for failure to maintain a single lane of traffic. Both vehicles were recovered by Ken's Towing and will be stored at Harrison Body Shop in Livingston.

39 year old Alana Marie Carpenter, of Livingston, was driving this 2019 Infinity QX-80 when she was distracted by eating while driving and crossed the center line striking Vaskike's vehicle.
After striking Vanskike's vehicle, Carpenter then struck the guard rail on the south-bound side of FM-350 North.
Carpenter was cited for failure to maintain a single lane of traffic.
Both vehicles were recovered by Ken's Towing.
