Motorcycle Crash, Driver Life Flighted, Alcohol Suspected, SCENIC LOOP, July 20, 2010 - At approximately 11:40 pm on July 19, 2010, a black Yamaha 1600 Star motorcycle driven by Carroll Lee Monteaux, 43, of Livingston, was west-bound on FM-3277 when his motorcycle left the road to the left. Both Monteaux and his passenger, Misty Brunk, 39, also of Livingston were ejected from the motorcycle. Monteaux's head struck a fence post. Neither was wearing a helmet. Americare Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with the Scenic Loop Volunteer Fire Department, Deputy Lee Rogers and Sergeant William Jerry and DPS Troopers Chris Stanbery and Donny Akers. Monteaux sustained major injuries including to his head. Brunk was transported to Livingston Memorial Hospital with undisclosed injuries. Monteaux was transported to Blanchard Baptist Church where a Life Flight Helicopter transported him to Hermann Hospital in Houston. Traffic was partially blocked during investigation and cleanup. Monteaux had insurance. Pending toxicology reports, Monteaux could be charged with driving while intoxicated. A rollback wrecker from Fawbush Wrecker Service recovered Monteaux's motorcycle and it will be stored at Fawbush Body Shop in Livingston. The scene was cleared by 1:10 am.
