14 Year Old Crashes Vehicle Into Tree, Flown to Houston, HOLIDAY LAKE ESTATES, July 18, 2017 - At approximately 2:30 am on July 18, 2017, a white 2006 Nissan Armada driven by a 14 year old Hispanic male was west-bound on Drew's Landing Road. The youth reportedly took the vehicle without his parents' permission. He entered a curve at a high rate of speed, left the pavement to the right and slammed into a large oak tree. Americare Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with the Holiday Lake Estates Volunteer Fire Department, Deputy Kayla Hemperly and Corporal Javier Segura with the Polk County Sheriff's Office and Trooper Allen Stanton with the Texas Highway Patrol. The driver sustained serious injuries and was transported by ambulance to CHI Livingston Memorial Hospital where he was loaded into a medical helicopter and flown to Houston. Traffic on Drew's Landing was partially blocked during investigation and cleanup. The youth is facing citations for unsafe speed, no driver's license, no insurance, and unregistered vehicle. A rollback wrecker from Ken's Towing recovered the vehicle and transported it to the parents' house.
