A pedestrian impacted this windshield on FM-350 South shortly after 3 am.
Pedestrian Extremely Critical After Being Hit by Car, LIVINGSTON, July 18, 2013 - At approximately 3:13 am on July 18, 2013, a pedestrian was struck by a car and at time of press is in extremely critical condition.  Kevin Andre Kahle, 54, of Livingston, was walking with his son on Pridgen Road.  Kahle walked into the middle of FM-350 South and apparently failed to notice an oncoming white 2004 Cadillac Deville driven by Shirley Griffen, 59, of Livingston.  The south-bound car slammed into Kahle as he was struck by the front passenger's side of the vehicle. Kahle fell to the road where he remained unconscious while Griffin came to a stop a short distance in front of him.  Corporal Terry White and Deputy Byron Dunaway (both with the Polk County Sheriff's Office) were dispatched to the scene along with Americare Ambulance Service and Trooper Donny Akers with the Texas Highway Patrol.  Kevin Kahle was transported by ambulance to Livingston Memorial Hospital in extremely critical condition.  Traffic on 350 South was blocked during investigation and cleanup.  No citations were issued.  Griffin's vehicle was driven from the scene.  The accident remains under investigation by Trooper Akers.
