Trooper Allen Stanton speaks with driver, 23 year old Michael Widenhouse, of Goodrich.
Mechanical Problems Believed to be Cause of Accident, 2 Hospitalized, GOODRICH, July 13, 2015 - At approximately 4:20 pm on July 13, 2015, a black 2014 Dodge Journey, driven by Michael Scott Widenhouse, 23, of Goodrich, was east-bound on Wyndham Ranch road.  According to Widenhouse, his vehicle had mechanical problems and when he tried to brake, the car wouldn't slow down, and it continued to accelerate.  Widenhouse's vehicle slid sideways into some large wooden fence poles on Wyndham Ranch at Lone Wolf Road.  This portion of Wyndham Ranch is unpaved.  Americare Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with Trooper Allen Stanton with the Texas Highway Patrol.  Widenhouse had a large cut on his forehead from the accident, and his passenger (Widenhouse's brother) was complaing of back pain.  Both were transported by ambulance to CHI Livingston Memorial Hospital.  No citations were issued.  A rollback wrecker from Barnes towing recovered Widenhouse's vehicle and it will be stored in Livingston.
