Driver Walks Away From Spectacular Crash, GOODRICH, July 10, 2014 - Shortly after 3 pm on July 10, 2014, a Nacogdoches man was north-bound on US-59 a short distance north of the FM-1988 overpass. The driver fell asleep at the wheel and his red Ford F-250 left the pavement to the right, rolled through the grass, struck a concrete barrier, jumped a creek and crashed into the weeds. Americare Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with Trooper Chad Seamans with the Texas Highway Patrol. Amazingly, the driver walked away physically unharmed. No citations were issued. The vehicle was recovered by Fawbush Wrecker Service and will be stored in Goodrich.
Tire tracks lead to the creek and the crashed Ford F-250.
The corner of the concrete barrier shows where the pickup impacted.
The accident knocked a rear tire off the pickup.
