Driver's Vehicle Struck by Falling Tree, SWARTWOUT, July 10, 2024 - At approximately 4:50 pm on July 8, 2024, the driver of a gray late model Ford Explorer was west-bound on FM-3126 (about a quarter mile from FM-1988 south) when a large pine tree fell from the woods and was long enough to land in the road striking her front driver's side fender. The impact caused her airbags to deploy as her vehicle came to rest partially on the pavement. Volunteers came to help and began cutting the tree away. Allegiance Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with Trooper Damon Zarate with the Texas Highway Patrol. The driver was a little shook up but otherwise okay. Her vehicle was recovered by Ken's Towing out of Livingston.
Trooper Damon Zarate investigated the accident.
