The accident occurred just south of Goat Hill Road in North Polk County.
Pedestrian Struck and Killed by RV, NORTH POLK COUNTY, July 8, 2021 - Shortly before 2 pm on July 8, 2021, a full size large RV driven by Brent Green, 61, of the Woodlands, was north-bound on US-59. Green's RV suddenly struck a pedestrian that stepped in front of his vehicle knocking the pedestrian into the grass on the right side of the pavement. Green never saw the pedestrian until it was too late. The pedestrian, James Robinson, II, 29, of Huntington (killed on impact), was reportedly spotted multiple times by drivers who called in to report Robinson wandering dangerously in and out of traffic on foot. Troopers Nick Hatton, Ashlee White, Kevin Burman, and Sergeant Sam Lattner with the Texas Highway Patrol were dispatched to the scene to investigate. Justice of the Peace, Robert "Dooley" Johnson performed an inquest at the scene. A first-call car from Corrigan Funeral Home transported Robinson from the scene. Traffic was not blocked during investigation and cleanup. The RV was driven from the scene.
