Driver Slams Into Tree, Alcohol Suspected, OLLIE, July 6, 2017 - At approximately 8:15 am on July 6, 2017, a white 2013 Ford Escape, driven by Joey Antone Williams, 27, of Livingston, was west-bound on FM-942 East.  Williams' vehicle left the pavement to the right and slammed into a tree.  Americare Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with Troopers Zach Lenderman and Donny Akers with the Texas Highway Patrol.  Williams climbed from the wreckage and appeared to have an injured arm (right arm).  Trooper Lenderman smelled alcohol on Williams and field tested him for intoxication (horizontal gaze nystagmus test).  Williams was transported by ambulance to CHI Livingston Memorial Hospital.  He was later transported to Polk County Jail and charged with driving while intoxicated.  A rollback wrecker from Riley Wrecker Service out of Corrigan recovered Williams' vehicle.
