Billy Lynn Mayhew's black 2006 Harley Davidson Motorcycle lies in the grass off FM-1276 about 3 miles south of US-190 East.

Motorcycle Accident, Driver Flown to Houston, CAMP RUBY, July 7, 2011 - At approximately 6:20 pm on July 6, 2011, a black 2006 Harley Davidson motorcycle driven by Billy Lynn Mayhew, 64, of Livingston, was south-bound on FM-1276.  According to a witness, Mayhew was traveling at around 60 mph when his motorcycle left the road to the right.  The witness stated that Mayhew continued rolling through the grass when at some point, his front tire got hung on something causing the bike to flip.  Americare Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with the Indian Springs Volunteer Fire Department and Troopers Darwon Evans and Rocky Thigpen.  EMS Personnel from Americare treated Mayhew at the scene and transported Mayhew to nearby Camp Ruby Church where a PHi Air Medical helicopter landed.  Mayhew was loaded onto the helicopter and transported to Hermann Hospital in Houston with serious injuries.  Traffic on FM-1276 was partially blocked during investigation and cleanup.  Mayhew's disabled motorcycle was retrieved by friends.
